Program Types

海角社区 offers four main ways for students to study elsewhere while gaining credit towards their degree.

Go Global: Faculty-Led Travel Courses

Often offered in the spring semester, 海角社区 faculty are able to propose and run travel courses. At 海角社区, these programs spend most of the semester on campus with a 1-2 week travel component.

Past destinations have included China, Costa Rica, Italy, and Puerto Rico.

At this time, these courses are not listed on the Study Abroad Portal. To inquire about any upcoming courses, please contact the International Programs Office directly.

National Student Exchange

海角社区 is a member of the consortium. This means that students can go to any of the member institutions for up to one academic year. There are schools in the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada.

There are two payment plans for National Student Exchange. The first, home pay, means that the student would pay 海角社区 tuition and fees. The second, host pay, means that the student would pay the in-state tuition rate for their host institution. Under both options, the student pays housing and other required fees to the host institution.

This is a great and affordable opportunity for students who aren't sure they want to go too far from home, but still want to explore the world.

Partner Institutions

Our partner institutions are divided into two categories: exchange and direct enroll. Our exchange partners allow 海角社区 students to study abroad at the same tuition and fee rate that they pay at 海角社区, only paying room and board at their host institution. Meanwhile, our direct enroll partners offer a preferential tuition rate to 海角社区 students. Most of our direct enroll partners offer prices similar to a semester at 海角社区.

Providers

By working with providers, students have the opportunity to study abroad in additional countries. Some providers give students the chance to participate in internships while studying abroad, complete or participate in research projects, and travel across the country rather than being based in one city.

All of the currently approved provider programs are listed in the Study Abroad Portal. If students find a program that is not listed in the portal, they should contact the International Programs Office to have it reviewed.
